Instructions for Session Chairs

Session chairs will receive a session report form for each session that they will chair along with their registration packet. Please use this form to confirm the presentation for each of the papers in the session and return it to the registration desk.

The responsibilities for Chairs/Co-Chairs of oral sessions are to moderate the corresponding session with max. 5 papers; i.e., to start and end the session, to introduce the speakers, and to guide the audience during the question and answer period.  The duration of each presentation is 15 minutes, with an additional 3 minutes allowed for questions. We will make every effort to upload presentations to the session computer before the session begins; please arrive at the session at least 15 minutes in advance to ensure that speakers are present and presentations are loaded. Session report forms should be returned to MWSCAS organizers at the registration desk. 

The responsibilities for Chairs/Co-Chairs of poster sessions are to moderate the corresponding session with max. 20 papers; i.e., to check that the poster presenters are present and to ensure that the session runs smoothly. Each poster session runs for 90 minutes and presenters should be available to explain their poster and answer questions for during that time. Mounting materials for posters will be available in the poster area (in Palm Ballroom Section CF).
